Having a ceiling fan in your home has now become a necessity. Especially on those summer days wherein the heat is unbearable and you only need a simple air ventilation system to keep you cool. Aside from its air cooling benefit; ceiling fans relatively use less electricity which will help you in budgeting bills in your home. It also contributes in giving your home a more decorative appeal. These reasons may be enough to justify why they have been in existence since the 1860's.
Nowadays, a ceiling can be considered a vintage contraption as its design and function relatively still works and looks the same. Attaching one to your home instantly gives the room a historic feel. The Victorian age is one era where fans were commonly found and considered to be the age where these fans looked their best with the use of stained-glass and flower-shaped lights. Of course, designs like these are still available as its attractiveness does not die out.
The benefit of a ceiling fan not only comes during a warm summer day, but you may also use it on a cold winter day. How? Let the blades of the fan rotate clockwise and in a slow speed. What this does is rises the air upward and directs cooler air below, this forces warmer air close to the ceiling to move downward to take the place of the cooler air.
This decreases your rooms thermostat a few degrees lower thus saves you more energy and makes the temperature in your room more comfortable. Also, you may pair an air-conditioning system with the use of the fan as it will help the spreading of the cooler air from the air-condition faster and not to mention, you wouldn't have to set your air-conditioning system at a high level which will decrease your power usage as well.
In this 21st century, aside from a ceiling fan's design, people look to its functions and advantages. Some ceiling fans are equipped to rotate faster and spread more ventilation, some even have lights in them so when attached to the ceiling, may serve as the rooms lighting system as well.
